First Day
Today was our first official full day in London! After a long day of traveling over Monday into Tuesday, we were exhausted yesterday. We checked into the hotel, and we went to the SU Abroad London center to have internet acess and touch base with our families. We spent the day yesterday wandering around the area of our hotel, and then we went out locally to the Spaghetti House for dinner as a whole group. Yesterday was difficult for us to tour around the city becasue we were all really exhasuted and jetlagged. But today was different because we were well-rested and finally got to see our first Olympic site, Wembley Stadium! We woke up early and went on the tube for the first time to the stadium. This is where the Olympic semi and final soccer games were played this past summer, and our tour was incredible. We went through the different locker rooms and got to sit where the VIPs sit during various soccer games. Afterwards, we went out to a sandwich place around the stadium, and then we traveled back on the tube to meet with Tim Jones, a lawyer who worked for the 2012 London Games. It was great meeting with him and hearing his opinions about how successful the Games were for the city overall. Tonight, we are going as a group to a Sport Cafe for dinner, and hopefully we will all have enough energy to go out after!
