What's all the bus about?

Good Afternoon! Today was a day full of riding busses. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic, which meant it took us a long time to get to the borough of Hackney. When we arrived at Hackney, we met with Councillor Guy Nicholson at the Town Hall. In our meeting with him, he discussed Hackney's role in the recent Olympics. He also discussed the regeneration of East London and the social change that the Olympics will bring to that area. He compared the plan to similar changes done by Atlanta and Barcelona after they hosted their own Olympics. Guy was also able to explain to us the role of local governments in London and their impact on the Olympics. After Hackney, we visited St. Paul's Cathedral. The cathedral is one of the only buildings not to be bombed during the second World War. However, the windows were blown out and as a result the windows were replaced with new windows from America. We went to the Whispering Gallery in the Cathedral and tried to communicate across the hall via wispers, but it failed as we now believe it is just a myth. Before going to the British Museum, we stopped at Pret A Manger to enjoy a quick sandwich. At the Museum, we observed Ancient Greek art and the Rosetta Stone, not the language teaching software. We all had a great day as we learned more about the London and England.

Cheerio
